"Those who claim we should withdraw from Iraq in order to fight al-Qaida more effectively elsewhere are making a dangerous mistake," the presumptive Republican nominee told the Los Angeles World Affairs Council. "I believe a reckless and premature withdrawal would be a terrible defeat for our security interests and our values." -John McCain, 26 March 2008 [Source]
Get It Right, McCain
by Mark Yannone
Like presidential candidate Ron Paul and these burned Iraqi children, those who demand that Americans leave Iraq immediately have no further assignment for our military forces. The long-standing order of Iraqis and Americans is simply "go home."
Americans had no business being in Iraq, but the acting president George W. Bush committed a crime against humanity--a million crimes against humanity--by ordering the American military to invade and occupy a sovereign nation that was no threat to America, killing and maiming millions of innocents while destroying and irradiating their homes and their cities.
To say that leaving Iraq immediately would be reckless and premature and to imply that Americans have a need to fight a fictitious group anywhere is the epitome of insanity. No, McCain, it's the insane violence you propound that threatens our national security and violates our values.
